Salignac-Eyvigues is only a small town but has a lot of history, some interesting sites, and an impressive 12th-century chateau on the edge of a bluff guarding the valley at the eastern edge of town.

There are a couple of restaurants in Salignac and normally (we suppose) some cafés. There were no cafés open when we were there, quite unusual for an August. We surmised that the café staff were all at the Medieval festival being held in the valley below the chateau that day.
