Aix-en-Provence is a dynamic town (lots of universities and art schools here). The Cours Mirabeau is world-famous for its shady terrace cafés and fountains. Good shopping, excellent restaurants and an outstanding market.
Via Vinon-sur-Verdon, Gréoux-les-Bains, Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, Gorges-de-Verdon, Castellane, for lavender, lakes, gorges, and Faïence pottery.
Visit the Venise de Provence and the lake-side (Etang de Berre) town of Istres, see the salt-hills of Salin-de-Giraud, and up through the Camargue to Arles.
Includes Saint Remy-de-Provence and Baux-de-Provence, with the Roman ruins of Glanum, then on to Arles and down through the Camargue to Sainte Maries-de-la-Mer.
