The lesser periwinkle is very similar to the greater (above); the main distinction being in the leaves.

Flowers. Feb-May.

Size. 30 cm (short)

Flower Blossom. 5 petals; 25-30 mm. The flowers are bluish-purple, 25-30 mm

Leaves. Shiny, bright-green elliptical or lanceolate leaves with smooth margins; 3-4 cm long.

Habitat. Shady areas and damp ground, and sometimes on open, rocky ground.
