The greater periwinkle is an evergreen, creeping plant with long trailing or arching stems. The flowers are carried in the short, ascending stems about 30 cm long.

Flowers. Mar-May.

Size. 30 cm (short)

Flower Blossom. 5 petals; 30-50 mm. The flowers are bluish-purple, 30-50 mm.

Leaves. Shiny, bright-green broad leaves with a blunt base with hairy margins; 6 cm long.

Habitat. Shady areas and damp ground.
